Abstract

Character Development of Leaders and Teachers at Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in Sibolga City is an ongoing program of STIT Muhammadiyah Sibolga Tapanuli Tengah in collaboration with the Educational Education Council of Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders in Sibolga City. Since the campus was founded in 1988, it has done a lot of coaching for Muhammadiyah schools. Through the Educational Education Council of Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders, Sibolga City and Central Tapanuli Regency submitted an application for the Guidance of Islamic Religious Education Teachers. According to the Educational Education Council of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership in Sibolga City, there are still many Muhammadiyah schools experiencing a number of obstacles, especially in teaching Islamic Religious Education, including 1) Lack of understanding of the National Education Standards (SNP) so that it affects the quality and quality education process; 2) There is a gap in the implementation of basic education in Sibolga City; 3) The objective condition of teachers in particular and human resources and learning media resources in the form of Educational Teaching Aids (APE) so that it has an impact on limitations in supporting quality learning processes; 4) Lack of support from the Sibolga City Government in the development of Muhammadiyah schools at the elementary level both morally and materially.

In connection with this, community service activities were carried out aimed at improving the quality of Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in the city of Sibolga towards schools with a quality educational process. The method that will be used in achieving this goal is the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) model of community empowerment. The PRA method is divided into 3 (three) stages, namely preparation, implementation and assistance, and report preparation. The implementation phase begins with socialization, evaluation of the SNP, document quality assistance, assistance in making APE, training on learning strategies and methods, the last stage is the preparation of the final report.
